I have a question, that perhaps might find its way to Sonny and result in an answer finding its way back to me:

Obviously, your sound and musical concept have evolved throughout your career. I am interested to know how your approach to studying music off of the stage changed. In other words, what sorts of things did you practice on the saxophone in the 50s, what were you practicing in the 60s, 70s, etc. What do you practice now? On a more general level, how has your approach to studying music changed over the years?

What were the best musical performances you've ever seen live? If you could go back in time and record any of the concerts you've seen in your life, which ones would they be?

If you were teaching a class called, "How to learn to play jazz saxophone," which recordings would be most useful for your students to listen to and transcribe?

I greatly appreciate your help and sharing your wisdom and experience.
